Lebanon, Lake Lure, and Things 2

This is Lake Lure before and after Hurricane Helene. Helene is of our making. It is a consequence of our devotion to a life style that, clearly, is killing the planet. A life style we cannot — or is it will not — disconnect from and which we impose on everyone on the planet because we want everyone to buy our things and because we want their resources to make our things. This is the consequence of loving ‘things’ more than life itself. How will we meet the crises we are creating? Can we, will we, change our lives?
