I awaken each morning to the ritual moment of seeking out the sky. When I awaken this dawn there is a pale half-moon in early blue, shining through the frame of branches of the Eucalyptus trees. As likely as not, I speak to the trees, sometimes even aloud, and remind them, remind myself, that I chose this house because I wanted to look at this line of trees, now greatly increased after more than 40 years, for the rest of my life. It was not an idle thought; it has, as I both hoped it would and wondered if it were possible, sustained me.
" Each one of us is capable of remembering at least a single moment of beauty, a radiant vision of the natural world or a profound connection with another being, human or non-human and then living in such a way as to restore such moments." Yes, like watering the trees: bringing these moments into our lives, tending the Heart-Mind from which they can be recognized, honoured, created. Thank you.
I think of Kairos, God of the fleeting moment /the favorable moment, so said those ancients, how it must be grasped like the winged naked running god, grasped by a tuft of his hair!!!!) i have lived fleeting moments...they return like your sight of the trees, dear Deena, to amuse me, or make me cry, or to be proud or to be ashamed...and to listen to a whisper from samuel beckett who is either laughing at us or with us, or urging us on...and we cannot go on...and we go on...!! with love as ever, margo
It's not good enough to say I am terribly moved, even soothed by this reflection. I am folded in and wrapped in solace despite the turmoil and trouble articulated. Perhaps, I got taken into the "sanctuary of consciousness" you let slip from your tongue yesterday afternoon in conversation. Write to us about that!

Like a balm for my heart, I am re-reading this after 2 days of SEATTLE having the worst air quality on earth!!! We had 0.4" of rain in >3mos.
Blessings abound and the rains came today... I celebrate with All My Relations as I can feel everyone's relief.
