For me its analysis makes total sense about what is going on behind the scenes and just how we need to respond. Thank you also for your talk, so important to put it all together.
Thank you, Teru, I have been writing about the rise of fascism in this country for a long time - or it feels like a long time since January 20th. But actually, I don't think it is fascism, I think it is Hitlerism, which was a particular brand, increasingly familiar. My new book The Story that Must Not be Told, will be out soon, in Germany and here, and speaks of this. We will keep you posted.
Wow, looking forward to it. I keep referring back to James Baldwin who prophesied the failure of American democracy due to its inability to profoundly address racism. By Hitlerism I’m guessing you refer to specific racism and then broadening it out. I never expected to re-experience my parents ordeal in this new way, to see their sacrifice treated as so much dog poop. At the same time there are newly emerging forces of resistance within Asian America that hopefully will not be beat.
